Award winning design by Reyes Rios+Larrain Studio. Casa Agave adjoins a beautiful 19c hacienda by the same architects.
This stunning home was commissioned by the owners of the adjoining hacienda as a place they could be when the hacienda was rented. But the home has become just as popular as the hacienda forcing the owners to seek shelter elsewhere for much of the year.
The two bedrooms are on either end of the house with a living-dining-kitchen in the center. The living area extends to the two terraces on either side with sliding pocket doors. The vast lawn and palm court was once a henequen drying field when the hacienda was a functioning factory. A single material, chukum stucco, has been used in the construction of all the interior and exterior walls as well as the extensive lily ponds and swimming pool. The resin from the Chukum tree has natural sealant properties and was used by the Maya to seal their homes and cisterns.
Hacienda San Antonio across the property is also available to rent for your vacation, event or wedding.
