Orangerie de Santa Ana is recommended by David Keeps at Travel+Leisure and Joanna Weinberg at Conde Nast Traveler

The Orangerie´s central location near the romantic Paseo Montejo make it ideal for exploring the colonial history of Merida. Museums, trendy cafes, cantinas and restaurants are all nearby. You are just a few minutes walk from the local markets of Santa Ana and Santiago. Santa Lucia park is 6 blocks away and there you´ll find some of the best restaurants and boutiques in town.

This lively restoration was done as a family vacation home for Josh´s family. The high ceilings, original patterned tiles and brightly colored rooms are a favorite among our guests and are a welcoming sight as soon as you enter the house.  The Orangerie de Santa Ana was designed for the maximal use of the outdoors. The arcaded portico downstairs opens onto the tropical garden and pool. Alfresco dining is just off the kitchen. There´s a private shaded terrace on the second floor The 3rd floor is a sunny terrace with views over the city that becomes a breezy cool place to have a drink and stargaze at night. Orangerie has a large living room off the garden and a smaller sitting room adjoining the old master suite. The new master suite upstairs has a private terrace. The third guest bedroom adjoins the living room.

This romantic home has been a favorite of honeymooners and wedding guests alike.  It´s an easy house to share with friends or family.
